Americans did okay at the US Open

On the surface it may appear that Americans came up short at the USO but not so fast. Sure the Bryan brothers our number one ranked Mens’ doubles team went out in the first round , but the number four Womens’ double team of  Lisa Raymond and Liezel Huber won the championship. They won against another American Vania King and her partner from  Kazakhstan Yaroslava Shvedova, good going ladies. Serena Williams could not make it to the top podium in the Womens’ singles final losing to Samantha Stosor however we had a Junior Girls’ winner achieved by Grace Min. The Juniors Girl team of  Taylor Townsend and  Gabriel Andrews were runner ups  in the finals.  Then the Mixed Doubles championship was also taken by the American youngsters Melanie Oudin and Jack Sock, this was a great win for them. Congratulations to all,  no matter what else they all  do in their tennis futures they will always be US Open Tennis champions.

Congratulation to Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Samantha Stosur (Australia) as the 2011 US Open Champions.

The American men did not make it to the final day but their performance this year gives us hope for next year when Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick will lead Donald YoungJohn Isner, Sam  Querrey and the others back to our national tournament. I predict that we will see an American male as a winner again in the near future.
